Managing Categories

Introduction

Categories and Sub-Categories within the system are used to segment the assets by type and are required to use functionality such as MARS registration.

The Open Asset platform comes pre-populated with a standard list of recognised hard asset categories but additional categories can be added as sub-categories to these to further segment the information.

Categories can be found under the categories tab of the Company Profile.

Adding Category

To add a category click the 'Add New' button.

Add the category name and select the parent Category that the sub category should be associated and click 'Create'.

Removing Category

Once a sub-category has been added to the Open Asset platform, it can be removed by clicking the 'Delete' button next to each category name

Click 'OK' to proceed with deleting the category or cancel to return to the category list.

Note

The asset categories provided by Open Asset can not be removed from the platform. Categories that can be removed but will remain associated to an asset but can no longer be assigned.
